Finance and Affiliation

British Colleges Sport is financed through an annual college membership fee, which is agreed by the National Council. A proportion of that fee, currently 1/3rd, is returned to the regions for their administrative and organisational costs. Each year invoices and affiliation forms are sent direct to colleges in membership of the Association and to new colleges who have indicated a wish to join. All enquiries concerning membership should be directed to the Association Coordinator. The Association’s financial year runs from 1 June to 31 May.

An “Intent to Enter” Form will be sent 1st May. This form is to be returned and an invoice will be produced as at 1st June. Where Colleges do not return the above form, Invoices and affiliation forms will be sent to colleges and new applicants in July. Upon receipt of the completed forms and payment, a copy of the annual yearbook will be sent.

Attention is drawn to the fact that it is the formal policy of the Association that any college which has not paid its affiliation fee by 30 September in any year may be asked to withdraw from all further competition in that year and to forfeit any placings or trophies that college may have obtained.

It must be stressed that colleges who participate in the association’s activities without formally affiliating to the association expose themselves and their students to the risk of not being covered by the association’s insurance policies.

Colleges will not be allowed to enter competitions or trials without payment or at the very least a completed  “Intent to Enter” form.
